Assistant Professor of Mathematics Marie Snipes came to Kenyon in 2009 . . . as an undergraduate at Harvey Mudd College, she was in ROTC . . . before returning to school (University of Michigan) to get her doctorate, she spent four years in the Air Force conducting statistical analyses relating to personnel issues . . . her research interests lie in the field of geometric measure theory, which has its origin in the study of soap films . . . she also collaborates with her sister, a Navy obstetrician, in research on domestic violence in the Navy.
