Gambier is Talking About

The Summer Olympics. Swimmers Andrejs Duda '06, Michelle Engelsman '01, and Agnese Ozolina '04 will compete in the 2004 Olympic games in August. Duda and Ozolina will swim for the Latvian team, while Engelsman will compete for the Australian team.

Preachers. As sure as tulips bloom in spring, evangelical preachers appear on Middle Path in warmer weather. While the College is in session, Kenyon students do not avoid, but indeed seek out the chance to spar verbally with the preachers. And, as in many generations, the daily outcome is, Missionaries-unmoved; Students-unconvinced. A good time is had by all.

Stormy Weather. A quick cleanup was necessitated by a pre-Commencement storm that dropped trees in front of Samuel Mather Hall and along Middle Path the night prior to the ceremony.

New Trustees. At their spring meeting, the Board of Trustees elected Episcopal Bishop of Ohio Rt. Rev. Mark Hollingsworth, Alumni Trustee Murray L. Horwitz '70, Alumni Trustee Pamela J. Pleasants '83, Knox County Trustee Susan Ramser, and Parent Trustee William Roj P'04, '07. Departing trustees included James H. Brandi P'01, Brackett B. Denniston III '69, Rt. Rev. J. Clark Grew, Trustee Emerita Cornelia Ireland Hallinan '76, and Ellen C. Turner '80.
