Celebrating ninety-three years

Professor Emeritus of Physics Franklin Miller Jr. reached his ninety-third birthday this fall, and Kenyon celebrated with a series of events honoring the long-time faculty member not only for his contributions to the College but for his distinguished career in community service. Miller, a renowned author of physics textbooks, taught at Kenyon from 1948 until his retirement in 1981. The College's observatory is named for him, as are the Franklin Miller Awards, which recognize students who do significant work beyond the scope of the curriculum. The festivities included a campus birthday party, with President S. Georgia Nugent attending.
