Gambier is Talking About...

A new mayor. Professor of Political Science Kirk Emmert is the new mayor of Gambier. Emmert was elected to a four-year term on Tuesday, November 4.

A new trustee. Mary Elizabeth Bunzel of New York City was elected to a four-year term as a parent trustee at the annual fall meeting of Kenyon's Board of Trustees. A writer who worked for many years as a freelance journalist for newspapers and magazines, ranging from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and London's Daily Telegraph to Avenue and Town and Country, Bunzel and her husband, Jeff, are members of the College's Parents Advisory Council. Her son, Maxwell Bunzel, is a sophomore at Kenyon.

A Renaissance movement. The statue Renaissance Man and Woman was moved from near Rosse Hall to a spot across from the Church of the Holy Spirit on Middle Path.

A great debate. The Kenyon Debating Society took home a first-place finish at the parliamentary debate held November 7-9 at King College in Bristol, Tennessee. The debate team will compete in the national competition in Los Angeles, California, this spring.
