The Pumpkin that Ate Peirce
The star of the Peirce Hall servery last fall was a 1,084-pound monster pumpkin installed by AVI, the food service, as a touch—well, more than a touch—of harvest-season decor. Gourdzilla, as the entity was known, generated its own gravitational field, figuratively speaking, inspiring awe, amusement, and satire before it began to sag and was carted off to the compost pile.
