Debate flared last fall over a Campus Senate proposal that would extend Kenyon's indoor smoking ban to all College property, including outdoor areas.
Animals.
When fifty-six exotic animals escaped froma farm near Zanesville, Ohio -- less than fifty miles from campus -- it made international news. Authorities killed forty-nine lions, tigers, bears and wolves. The owner reportedly had released the animals before commiting suicide.
Pinto Beans.
The planned opening of a Chipotle restaurant in Mount Vernon generated local buzz. On a bring-Chipotle-here- Facebook site, one Mount Vernon nazarene University student praised "these delicious burritos sent to us by our Lord."
New Buildings.
The campus celebrated the dedication of new student residences and the Gund Gallery in October. The art gallery opened its doors to the community with the inaugural exhibition "Seeing/Knowing."
