Gambier is Talking About...

Credit card fraud. Members of the community were plagued by credit card fraud in late January. Authorities determined that hackers stole data from the computer system of a local business and acquired credit card and debit card information. About fifty victims reported erroneous charges, some totaling several thousand dollars.

Green awnings. Downtown Gambier received a facelift with the addition of green awnings on the storefronts of the Village Market and the Kenyon Bookstore. The College purchased the awnings while refurbishing the interior of the bookstore.

Happy dogs. The Village of Gambier created a dog park of nearly two acres near the community center on Meadow Lane. Council member Betsy Heer helped raise funds for the park, a fenced-in area where dogs can frolic off-leash. Heer estimates that more than twenty dog owners visit the park each day.
