Doing Philander Proud

Luke Svoboda-Barber, the great-great-great-great-grandson of Kenyon's founding father Philander Chase, helped beautify the campus at this year's Middle Path Day, a traditional day of work and fun that dates back to Earth Day in 1971. Village-wide projects included bulb and tree planting, trash and winter-debris pick-up, spreading mulch, and raking to restore some of the gravel along Middle Path. Luke is the son of Helen Svoboda-Barber, rector of Harcourt Parish and great-great-great-granddaughter of Philander Chase, and her husband, Shawn Svoboda-Barber.
