Chuck was eight-six at the time, and Ann was almost eighty. They surprised many of their bridge and tennis friends. In May, after many good years with few major physical problems, Chuch finally had an operation and some serious trips to the hospital. He is gradually recovering, but it's taking much longer than he expected.
