Claire K. Beckett, married Peter Kvetko (Wittenberg) in May 2011 in Essex, Massachusetts, with several Kenyon alumni in attendance. Claire and Peter continue to live in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. Kathleen S. Birck, Kingman, Arizona, continues to work at Noah Country Healthcare in northwest Arizona. This fall she entered an online doctor of nursing program through the University of Pittsburgh. Kathleen continues to love the sunshine, sunsets, and beatuy of the area. Daniel W. Bowles remains happily married to Kelly McMullen. They live in Denver, Colardo, along with their two-year-old son, Noah. Dan looks forward to finishing his oncology fellowship in 2012 and starting his practice at the University of Colardo and Denver VA Medical Center.

Juliana Shaffer Belelieu, Long Island City, New York, writes, "I had the opportunity to supervise an intern from Kenyon College, Yukiha Maruyama '12, this past summer as part of my work at the TeenScreen National Center at Columbia University. It was fun to get to work with her and hear about the changes at Kenyon. Alexis Braun Marks and Adam D. Marks celebrated the first birthday of their daughter, Corinne, in August. Alexis tells us she began her new job as the university archivist at Eastern Michigan University this fall. The Marks family lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Gillian K. Pollock married Richard Turney on October 9, 2011, and they spent their honeymoon in Jamaica. Gillian also reports that she graduated from the Art Institute of Phoenix last June. Gillian and Richard reside in Tuscon, Arizona. Jennifer Lindley Shirazi and her husband, Nima, announce the birth of a daughter, Layla Jane Shirazi, on April 20, 2011. Layla is their first child, and Jennifer tells us, "We couldn't be happier. She is amazing!" The Shirazi family resides in Brooklyn, New York. Katherine Suttle Weinert, Birmingham, Alabama, has been appoiinted to the 2011-12 class of the City of Birmingham's Young Professionals United initiative. Katherine is an attorney for Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP in its Birmingham office.

Caitlin E. Horrocks, Grand Rapids, Michigan, had a short story published in the October 24, 2011 issue of The New Yorker. "Sun City" tells the story of a young woman helping to sor tthrough her deceased grandmother's possions in Sun City, Arizona. Margaret C. Scavotto, St. Louis, Missouri, reports that she is one of your Alumni Council members. The Alumni Council serves as your voice in advising the administration and students in ways to grow and strengthen all that is Kenyon. Patrick was named the director of musical theatre and jazz for BMI, and Amy is now the legal assistant for the HIV Project at Lamda Legal. Knopf, Wareham, Massachusetts, reports that after graduation from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts, last spring and taking the bar exam, she began as an associate at Farrell and Associates on Cape Cod. Erica D. Weston married Norman Bouwie III on July 17, 2010 in Lawrence, Kansas, and the couple honeymooned in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Erica is working as a school psychologist for two charter schools in Dayton, Ohio, and Norman is an nternal auditor for the Kroger Company. The Bouwies live in Loveland, Ohio.

Amy M. James and Elton M. Hartney James celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary last June in Los Angeles, California, where they now live. Elton loves his work as a set lighting technician on film and television shows, and Ashley is producing the Nutcracker ballet with 130 children before comitting full time to her acting career. Claire Larson tells us she married David Long last winter and they both are teaching at Louisville Collegiate School, where Claire is in her eigth year of teaching eighth-grade English and coaching tennis. The Longs live in Louisville, Kentucky. Michael P. McMahan reports that he is now married. Mike and his wife, Brooke, live in Los Angeles, California. Jessica Tanner Mills, Novato, California, reports that she will be attending an M.Phil in Irish writing program at Trinity College in Dublin this year.

Neil tells us they are doing well and currently expanding. Rebecca J. Steffy married Aaron Couch on June 11, 2011. The couple resides in Madison, Wisconsin. Kelly A. Smallwood married Staff Sergeant Christopher Stephan Stowe on August 27, 2011. Kelly tells us that while her husband wraps up his service at Fort Myer in Arlington, Virginia, she will continue to manage corporate communications for the Americas region of Skanska Infrastructure Development, a Swedish design and construction firm. Haugen informs us that he is working as head tennis coach for the Hebei Province Sports Association, located in Shijiazhuang, China. The program is sponsored by the Chinese government and competes within China and internationaly. Joanna E. Katz an Erick R. Taft, Chicago, Illinois, are engaged to be married. They are planning a July 2012 wedding.

Christopher C. Basile, Los Angeles, California, tells us he has been working nonstop in theater, acting in numerous United States premieres, directing three plays this year, and designing plays regularly. Chris has won several acting awards in the Los Angeles area and has been invited to join the board of The Monkey Wrench Collective, an internationally recognized theater. Willow A. Belden spent an intense year at Columbia's journalism school, and in September she headed to Laramie, Wyoming, to live and work as a reporter and anchor for Wyoming Public Radio.

Robert A. Dignazio has been named the head men's lacrosse coach at Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin. The new program will begin varsity competition in the spring of 2013. Nathaniel C. Pritchard will serve as Beloit's assistant lacrosse coach. Bob tells us that he and Nate were classmates, teammates, and co-captians of the Kenyon Lacrosse team in 2008. Beloit's president is Scott Bierman, father of Emily F. Bierman and Lauren E. Bierman '04. Elizabeth H. Foster, Northampton, Massachusetts, tells us she has been hired by the Neilson Library at Smith College to be its new reference and information commons librarian. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a master's degree in library science in May 2010. Hannah Rose Sacks married Stephen poweska this past summer. The wedding was held in Gambier with many Kenyon alumni and professors in attendance, including Jazz S.A. Glastra '11, who served as a bridesmaid. Hannah and Stephen reside in Washington, D.C.

Emmett T. Brady, Oakland, California, reports that he is eating banh mi like a boss, petting cats like there's no tomorrow, and teaching his parrot to say, "Help, they've turned me into a parrot!" Emmett tells us life is good and ice cream is delicious. Allison J. Burket, Potomac, Maryland, tells us she will be spending six months working witht he Detroit Food Policy Council through the EMerson Hunger Fellowship, followed by six months in Washignton, D.C., learning about and advocating for policies and programs that will build a healthier food system. Ryan C. Burns, Evanston, Illinois, has begun a fellowship at Northwestern University to pursue his Ph.D in history. David W. Mastrangelo is living in Arlington, Virginia, working as a fundraising consultant for four congressional campaigns. He finished his master's degree in political management at George Washigton University in July. David tells us he remains very close to Jillian L. Olsavsky and Hillary Franke. Toni J. Metcalf, Gambier, Ohio, reports that after serving two years in AmeriCorps, she has started a cat rescue in central Ohio called Whisker Connection, where she serves as the vice president of the board and is working to make Ohio a better place.
