Donald G. May, Portage, Michigan, informs us that for the last eight years he has limited his oil paintings to portraits, with a major exhibition at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo in December. The exhibition featured leaders in the community whose commitment made the community a better place. Don also works with Forgotten Man Ministries as a chaplain assistant. He meets weekly with inmates to pray and distribute Bibles, literature, and magazines in the Kalamazoo County Jail.

Donald R. Bateman, Granville, Ohio, writes that he is busy playing tennis with a group of seniors (all younger than he), working out twice a week, learning how to operate the Nikon D40, and reading as much as he can about ecology, the underlying motivation of U.S. political and military activity over the decades, and the technical aspect of photography. Don is also growing a modest crop of garlic, tomatoes, peppers, and herbs to facilitate his invasion of the kitchen. Carl Djerassi, San Francisco, California, reports that last year he was awarded honorary doctorates from the Universidad Nacional de Quilmes (Argentina), and from Rutgers University, where he was the commencement speaker at its Newark campus. Carl also was elected a foreign member of The Royal Society (London) during its 350th anniversary year.

Edward S. Shorkey, Ashburn, Virginia, tells us that he and his wife, Polly, have moved to Ashby Ponds, a retirement community in Ashburn, to be closer to their daughters, whom they see fairly often. Ed stays healthy and does some walking and though he would like to visit Kenyon, his age (eighty-six) keeps him home.

Thomas E. Fowler, Centerville, Ohio, reports that he has finally retired after a fifty-seven-year career as a life insurance agent/broker. Now at eighty-two, Tom and his wife, Mary Lou, have moved to the Dayton area to be closer to their daughter, Susan, and granddaughter, Bailey. James R. Packard, Ann Arbor, Michigan, writes that he is "long retired but ... still jockeying between playwriting and research on the logic underlying/overcasting the digimania that has befallen us. Few, if any, resonate to the idea this long after, but Phil Rice and Pappy Ransom would have, for sure." Charles D. Williams, Indianapolis, Indiana, tells us that his travels have slowed down since his wife, Barb, died, traveling solo not being quite the same. He and Barb had hoped to visit the three hundred countries on their "bucket list," but didn't quite make it. Chuck is enjoying the relatively carefree life of a retirement community, with a cottage but no lawn care. There are lots of activities—and attentive widows!
